Fall quilts are some of my favorites–perhaps because I can use the beautiful ranges of oranges, greens, browns, and golds found in the beauty of nature (or maybe just because when I get them out each year I know cooler weather is coming). I had fun making this pumpkin quilt last fall but didn’t get it finished until after Christmas. I can’t wait to display it this year!
This quilt is one of my favorites; I made it during the fall of 2006 and got to hang it last year for the first time. I was particularly pleased because I didn’t purchase any fabric for it…I used only scraps from my stash! Below are a few close ups of the blocks; hopefully you can see the beautiful machine quilting by my favorite long-arm quilter.
And here is a fun table topper I made one evening while at the Utah Quilt Guild Festival in September 2007–it also didn’t get finished in time to display last year. The top is made from a charm pack. I showed the back as well since it is such a fun print.
Finally, a collage of some of my older fall quilts. The top left is a little pillow; the top right is a table topper my grandmother made for me about 12 years ago. On the bottom left is my first fall quilt; I made it 11 years ago from a Debbie Mumm pattern and hand-quilted it. The quilt on the bottom right is also a Debbie Mumm pattern that I made about 10 years ago–it is also hand quilted…just don’t look too closely as my hand quilting leaves much to be desired.

Sherri, I love the quilt with the bird in it. I can’t believe that you didn’t have to buy any fabric for it. That’s quite a stash you have. It’s fun to check in on your blog. I’ll have to stop by and come see all your quilts. This may another hobby I want to pick up. My husband will die!
