Hello friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 467: Lifestyle & More for Quilters. Each Saturday I share a roundup of inspiration from around the internet in a variety of lifestyle categories including self-care, recipes, quilting and sewing, book and podcast recommendations, home decor and organizing, and more. I also link the blog posts from earlier in the week.
I’ve just returned home from an amazing retreat in southern California where I was able to teach with my daughter and Liza Taylor. We had an incredible week and finished it up with a day at Disneyland with many of our attendees! I’ve got some fun photos from class and Disney for today’s post.

Saturday Seven 467: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I just returned home from “the happiest place on earth,” and it was truly a blessing to get a little vacation, even if just for a day. I feel like I need to do that more often in the regular days and weeks…just a little break can make all of the difference. And it doesn’t have to be a Disneyland day–a manicure, a haircut, or even a solo trip to the park or a quilt shop can be a terrific form of self-care!
2. Recipes to Try
First, this Pumpkin Waffles recipe is so perfect for the season! If you are planning your Thanksgiving dinner now, here is a yummy Maple Butter Parmesan Roasted Delicata Squash recipe! And here is a great roundup of other Thanksgiving dishes from the same cook!

3. Quilt + Sew: Coming Soon
I’ll have a new pattern to share on the weekly newsletter tomorrow…it’s such a fun one! Also, stay tuned next week for the next post for the Poinsettia Stars Block of the Month sew along. I’ll be sharing the final three blocks! I’ll also have posts coming soon on what I think I can finish by the end of the year and some early plans for next year.
4. Book + Podcast Recommendations
Cal Newport features Jerry Seinfeld in this episode on “doing hard things.” And I’m almost finished with The Q–it is so good I continued to read a few chapters a night while I was at the retreat. I also got some new book ideas at the retreat…more on them soon!

5. Eternity Quilt Events Retreat
Our Eternity Quilts retreat in Anaheim; California was a lot of fun. Chelsi and I traveled to southern California Sunday morning and arrived in time for our opening social that evening. The next three days we taught a six-hour class each day to groups of 30-40 students each. We had catered lunches each day, fun dinners and treats, and had trunk shows and games in the evenings. Along with me and Chelsi, Liza Taylor also taught. Session two featured designers Camille Roskelley, Vanessa Goertzen, and Kaitlyn Howell of Knot & Thread. We all got to go to Disneyland together with many retreaters on Thursday. It was the best of times!

6. Also–Another Eternity Quilt Event Retreat Next Year!
We also are excited to share that we have our next retreat event almost open for registration! There will be two sessions (although space is limited in each one). Come sew the quilts pictured above and enjoy the beautiful island of Maui! Session 1: October 27 – November 1, 2027, and Session 2: November 1 – 6, 2027.
