Sundance Dresden

Happy Friday! Today I have some fun Bright Sun eye candy to share with you! This is actually something I've known about since quilt market in Minneapolis last spring! Kimberly of Fat Quarter Shop designed and pieced a beautiful Dresden pillow using our fabrics...her design is a fun "double Dresden" variation which is pieced using the Creative Grids 18 degree Dresden Plate Ruler.

Kimberly's pillow is extra gorgeous in Bright Sun fabrics, and I was able

to let her borrow my "Dream Catcher" quilt  after market to use for a backdrop while she was filming (the "Dream Catcher" quilt pattern is available in paper and pdf in my Etsy shop)! I knew the pattern and video would be coming out soon after the Bright Sun fabric was in shops, and since the fabric is now available, Kimberly has released the pattern and video.

Here is another fun version of the Sundance Dresden pillow...in Kate Spain's fabrics...I love this version, too!  I just received this ruler and am thinking I need to make a Christmas Dresden asap...I love this design!

Codi's (of Fat Quarter Shop) version of the Sundance Dresden Pillow

You can get a kit for the Bright Sun version of this pillow which includes the pattern, Bright Sun fabric, batting, and pillow form here (the Creative Grids ruler must be purchased separately).

You can also purchase the pdf pattern for the Sundance Dresden pillow separately.

And...you can watch Kimberly's YouTube video which shows how you can make the pillow step by step! Kimberly has great tips which will really help if you've never made a Dresden block before.

Have a great weekend...and thanks so much for stopping by!

Beautiful quilt and pillow! Dresdens are my favorite. I posted my Christmas Dresden a few days ago on my blog. They are addicting!

What a clever trick, using a patched piece to make the fanblades. Love the fabric, of course, especially the colors!

I love the colors in your version! A Christmasy color range would be great for the holidays.

How fun! Both pillows look great, and I love Rachel Griffith's version and think she should make a mini quilt out of it.

So fun! I gave a woohoo when I saw this on Fat Quarter shop, and I should have known that, of course, you knew all about it. So glad your fabric was featured as it is so gorgeous.
