Parade Day is here--yay! I absolutely love seeing all the different versions each and every month. And today we have some beautiful versions of "Endless Summer"...but first I'd like to announce the pattern for March--"Brocante!" "Brocante" is a brand new Schnibble designed by Carrie Nelson. It's a fun pattern that goes together a little differently than I first thought it would. It's perfect for working with contrast...and it will be great in any style of fabric. I love all of the things you can learn from working with a Schnibble--I honestly believe I've learned much of what I know about value and contrast from working with these patterns; practicing each month with a small quilt to learn different techniques and work with color, scale and contrast has not only been fun but also very educational! So thank you, Carrie, for designing these amazing patterns!
I chose to use "Fandango" by Kate Spain for my modern take on Carrie's quilt--the blues and greens from this line mix and match well and provide a wonderful background for the corals and golds.
A great feature of the pattern is the different size options that are included--fabric and block requirements are inside the pattern to make the quilt a little bigger or a lot bigger! I still need to add binding to mine...I'm going to use one of the pink/coral stripes cut on the bias to have a bright "frame" to my quilt.
So, on with the parade...it's going to be above 90 degrees today here in the desert southwest...I'm hoping we don't have a "real life" Endless Summer here this year. We do have some wonderful "Endless Summer" quilts to share, though! Cardygirl made this sweet version of Pam Buda's "Endless Summer." She used a variety of Lakehouse fabrics from her stash and combined them with a Moda print for background.
LeAnn used Breakfast at Tiffany's along with a little Mill House Inn and Buttercup--you know I love these Fig Tree fabrics!
Amanda used some American Jane for her "Endless Summer." It's set off perfectly with Kona white!
Michelle made a truly Sunkissed "Endless Summer!"
And Carol also used Sunkissed...making a four block version--I love that grey outer border!
And Quanita used the fun "Sugar Pop" collection by a new Moda designer, Liz Scott. I love this version, too!
Shannon made this color play version that seems to have the perfect summer quilt color combination!
And Simone made this lovely 4-block version...just beautiful!
Sandie used the "Endless Summer" block to make this great runner...just love it! Make sure you go over to Sinta's blog to see the other quilts! Thanks so much to everyone for participating...be back tomorrow with some winners! Happy Sewing!
