Yesterday I got to spend a lot of time sewing–it was wonderful! I finished up two projects and even got them dropped them off at my local quilter’s!
First, I finished my Vintage Holiday quilt; I decided to go with the red border. The blue looked good, but in comparison to the red there really was no doubt in my mind that the red was the better choice.
I also started and finished a Christmas tree skirt. The red houndstooth print (from the Vintage Modern collection) is going to be the backing for the tree skirt.
I really love this quilt and just can’t wait to see it quilted!
I decided to go with a simple patchwork for my new tree skirt. I was deternined to use my Sew Cherry scraps but simply didn’t have enough…so off I went to my scrap bin.
To my surprise, my 12 Days of Christmas scraps really coordinated well with the Sew Cherry line. My tree skirt ended up being about two thirds 12 Days and one third Sew Cherry.
I didn’t get a picture, but I used the blue print for the border of the tree skirt…so it was a really good thing I had ordered it! I still have a lot of Christmas sewing to do, but first I need to clean up my sewing room. That will definitely be tomorrow’s project!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I got a short stack of Cherry Christmas fabrics and can't wait to sit down and make something. Thought of making an oversized Churn Dash quilt that I saw from Elvy Crafts blog. However, with only two weeks left … I can get started on it for next year I guess. 🙂 I really enjoy your posts! (that is Cherry Christmas you are using and not Sew Cherry – right?)

I keep wanting to make a tree skirt but can't seem to part with the handmade one Mr. Creation's dear Aunt Rose made for us nearly 30 years ago. :o) Happy Christmas crafting.

I'm so glad I saw this this morning. I have a garland on my tree from 12 days and really want to make a tree skirt but I don't have any 12 days left. Good to know Sew Cherry coordinates so well. I'm off to get some today. :o)
