While walking this morning I took some time to ponder some of the things I’m grateful for! First, I’m grateful that the temperatures are finally cooling down; while the daytime temperatures are still a little warm, the cool mornings and evenings bring with them a sense of hope!
I’m also grateful I enjoy simple things…like hand sewing 1″ hexagons! It’s wonderful to have interests and hobbies that are quiet. I’m grateful to my Mom and Grandmother for encouraging me in the home arts. I know this hand-pieced hexagon quilt might take years to finish, but that’s okay–I will enjoy the journey. (Note: the hexagons above are from the collections Gypsy Girl by Moda, Seaside by Riley Blake, and Chicopee by Denyse Schmidt)
I’m grateful for this fat quarter bundle of Tapestry which arrived at my door the other day! This is my favorite Fig Tree collection to date!
I’m grateful to have finished my Farmer’s Wife Christmas quilt…in time for the holidays, even!
I’m grateful for faith, family, and friends, and for the beauty all around (even in the desert). Hope you have a wonderful Thursday! Thanks so much for stopping by!

I have to agree that Tapestry is awesome – but isn't the most recent fabric purchase always the best? One of these days I'll start my farmers wife too.

Every day when I get Up, I am so thankful for another day of life and that I can still do the things that bring me joy. It was great to read your post. We should always take time to be thankful for all of the things the Lord has blessed us with. You are a beautiful sewer.

I was feeling grateful today too–and a large part of it was the fact that the (hideous) summer seems to be on the wane.
Congratulations on finishing up your Christmas quilt and early! It's beautiful. I'm sure you'll love having it around your house in December. And won't that come quickly!
Anyway, thanks for a thoughtful post–

and I am thankful for you and your blog! I just love looking forward to seeing what you have created and the beautiful fabrics that you get to work with. Tapestry is definitely in my top 10. I'm not sure it will push Patisserie out of its place yet.
