Hello, friends! I’m happy today to be sharing the Saturday Seven 421: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post. Keep reading for a variety of fun things I’ve found from around the internet this week.
Here at home, I’m finishing up some organizing and decorating–and a few last-minute gifts. Plus, our Cuddle Birch & Willow fabrics arrived, and I’m not sure I’ll be able to keep from sewing with it this weekend–it’s just so soft!

Saturday Seven 421: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
It’s not too late to use many of these ideas for a more simple Christmas! Also, have you ever thought about stopping Instagram–thoughts and ideas on that here. Finally…start a notes page now (either in your phone or in a notebook with ideas for next December–you’ll definitely thank yourself then)!
2. Recipes to Try
This Winter Cabbage Salad with Mandarins and Cashews will be on our holiday gathering table. Also, one of my favorite food bloggers just shared this Sheet Pan Chicken Shawarma, and I can’t wait to try it (she said it’s one of her families favorites already). Delicious sausage stuffed mushrooms! Finally–not a recipe but a fun piece on finding and bringing your signature dish.

3. Quilt & Sew
Fat Quarter Shop just shared a fun new (and free!) fat quarter pattern: Fat Quarter Clips! And this beautiful book is the perfect gift for your quilting friends (or for you–I ordered it for myself)!
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
So excited to finally get my copy of Best Laid Plans in the mail! I will be devouring this book over the holidays. I’ve followed Sarah’s blog and podcasts for a while now and am super excited to have her ideas in book format. I’m already on chapter three and loving it!

5. Recent Amazon Favorites
This shower oil came highly recommended and did not disappoint. I immediately ordered two more bottles, so I won’t run out! This beautiful and timeless book makes the best gift (and will arrive before Christmas)! Finally–we just ordered this to cook our holiday meal. We’ve been experimenting with making different foods every day since it arrived, and every one has turned out perfect.

6. Whimsy Stars Quilt in Poinsettia & Pear
While filming videos last week we realized that we had never filmed my Whimsy Stars quilt in Poinsettia & Pear fabrics. So, we did! This is honestly such a good quilt–perfect for any collection but especially beautiful in our Poinsettia & Pear fabrics. Watch the video above or on our YouTube channel. And find the pattern below.

Well, it has been a wonderful quilting year for you and Chelsi. Thank you for all the work you both do to provide us with interesting and beautiful quilts and patterns. The fabrics are especially wonderful. Can’t wait to get the Birch and Willow and the Posey and Pear collections. Praying you all have a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year. Love you all.

Love your new fabric line.
I am also reading Best Laid Plans. I love the podcast and was so excited when the book release was announced. I want to make sure plenty of sewing time is built into my plans for the year.

Happy Christmas Sherri, Chelsi, Billy and to the rest of your family. Thank you for all you do for the quilting community.

For many years I kept a small spiral notebook for Christmas ideas from year to year. I wrote down what had worked and what hadnโt each year, ideas to try next year, and items I needed to get for the following year. It always helped me remember to buy Advent candles in time for the first Sunday of Advent. I donโt decorate as much as I used to but itโs still helpful and I can list gifts weโve given each year.
