More pinwheels…(Fabric Verna by Kate Spain…pattern “Jelly & Jam” by Joanna Figueroa).
I did get a lot of sewing in this week…my February Schnibbles is complete…can’t wait to share it…and I also nearly finished another quilt I can’t yet share. I pieced two quilt backs yesterday–I procrastinate on quilt backs for some reason–does anyone else do this? Any suggestions? One of my goals for 2010 is to piece my quilt backs immediately after finishing the tops. Oh, and another goal is patience…if I could just learn to patiently wait for the “future collections” on the United Notions page I think life would be much easier. I’m pretty confident about accomplishing the quilt back goal…the patience…not so much! Have a great day!

Sherri…pinwells are great, and your Hope Valley quilt is just so lovely, the borders look great.

Beautiful finishes! I love the pinwheels. Boy, you are just busy with tons of projects. And yes, I so totally do that with my backs!!
Darlene says
Very, very pretty, Sherri. I have a tendency to piece my quilt backs, make my binding and then it all just sits. My biggest goal this year is to quilt everything as soon as I've finished. So far so good! WooHoo!!!
passingdowncrazy says
I love the Heather pattern! Don't know what to tell you about the backings though. I was really good for a while about doing backings and bindings when I finished the quilt, but I'm woefully behind right now!

Love the pinwheels & Hope Valley is really nice! Lots of lovely fabrics & thoughts.
Vickie E says
hmm where should I begin?
pinwheels are cool=Verna…
I am super interested in how you quilt the Hope Valley quilt…that fabric is so trendy…not in a bad way.
As for the new Moda fabrics…I know exactly how you feel…are you my twin? LOL
I am soo coveting 12 days, Lumiere, and Fruitcake…
The Quilt Buddy says
Everything looks beautiful! Of course I love all of the fabric…and I am like you, I jus keep dreaming of what the next fabric line will be!
Did you enjoy working with Hope Valley? I think that I MIGHT need to get some of it.
Terriaw says
Those pinwheels remind me of summer fruit salad. What a fun block to make. And your Hope Valley quilt looks fabulous with the addition of the off kilter borders. Very cool effect!

Great quilts! I don't mind piecing the backing~ its squaring it up that drives me crazy. 😉 I am finding myself ordering more wide backings. ;-o
Deb says
I love the pinwheels, too! A Verna layer cake just arrived at my house. I'm using it for Rachel's (p.s.i quilt) pinwheel quilt-along. And I love your hope valley quilt, too, because I love Heather's patterns. Always enjoy seeing what you're working on!
Material Mary says
Wow girl–you are really cranking out the sewing. I'm not home long enough to do a whole lot of anything so it takes me awhile to make anything, but I love love love the process.

You're amazing, Sherri! Can't believe how many projects you're working on, and that you do them all so well.
PS: LOVE those pinwheels *wink, wink*!! And I was just looking at the Jelly & Jam pattern Joanna sent to me and saw that YOU had pieced the quilt on the cover! So beautiful.

Love the off set pattern for the Hope VAlley! That is amazing!
Cindy says
Oh, goodness, the Hope Valley quilt is pretty.
Okay, all right, you're teasing us with more wonderful quilts that you're doing behind our backs.
I look forward to seeing them.
Kaaren says
More beautiful finishes to feast our eyes on. Gorgeous as usual, Sherri.
Lisa D. says
Those Hope Valley fabrics look just wonderful in your quilt! I love your border choice. I don't particularly like doing quilt backs either, and usually wait until I'm sending the quilt out to be quilted before doing them. I'm the same with with obsessively looking at the Moda website wondering "when are those beautiful new fabrics coming out?"
kpaints says
Love Hope Valley! Great job. Can't wait to see your other projects.
Kim D. says
Love the pinwheels with the Kate Spain fabrics, gorgeous. Wow you are prolific. You go girl!! 🙂

Sinta Renee says
Looks like you had a productive weekend playing in your wonderful fabric collections. I like your Off Kilter quilt… even better than the one in the booklet. Backings at the same time you finish your quilt top??? What a great idea! Patience?… Funny I just wrote a list of the soon to be released fabric groups (from Moda) that I am drooling over!

Very nice; I especially like your pinwheels. They look so fun! Happy quilting! 🙂

Excellent weblog, keep up the good work. I read a lot of blogs on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog. Thanks,
A definite great read…

Sherri,
I love your pinwheels. I made a pinwheel quilt a long time ago, but watching your quilt, made me want to make another one with fun fabrics and colors.
Thank you for the inspiration!

Ok so those are mitered corners? I love this quilt and especially because of the fabric. It is so striking SHerri. I want to see this one too. Was it hard? I hate mitered corners!! Hate making them I mean. Love looking at them.

O my goodness. I LOVE that quilt pattern!
Threeundertwo says
I absolutely have the same problem with backs. I've actually promised myself to get some of the extra wide backing fabric when I see it on sale to try to curb this.
Dawn says
Pinwheels are my favorite! I love Heather's patterns and the one you made looks fantastic. Happy sewing!!
Carrie P. says
Love those pinwheel blocks and your quilt is great too.
I am like you about quilt backs. They are the one part of quilting I don't like. I am good about making the binding right away but I put off the backs. They are just not fun.
Shiree says
yeh I so procrastinate on quilt backs, I just love piecing quilt tops, but so dally with the backs! They become WISPs unfortunately, but then the upside is suddenly I finish a number of quilts a one time when I eventually get around to them!
Carol says
Love those pinwheels!
joanna says
LOVE the combo of Verna with Jelly & Jam. Can't wait to see the finished quilt!
