Well…today the Blogger’s Quilt Festival quilts are showing up all over blogland…I love reading the stories behind each one. Thanks so much to Amy for organizing this once again!
I decided to share a quilt I haven’t posted about yet…I got the pattern back in 2003 during the annual Las Vegas area shop hop, but I don’t think I finished the quilt until some time in 2004.
I had started collecting a few 30’s prints and decided this would be a fun quilt to use them in.
I love the churn dash pattern…it’s just one of those patterns I’ve always been drawn to…do you have patterns and designs like that?
I wasn’t very accurate in some of my piecing with this quilt…but I’ll never forget the sense of accomplishment when finishing…or the sheer delight at the beautiful quilting done by Andrea, an owner of The Christmas Goose.
Hope you’re enjoying all of the festival quilts…and the market posts that are starting to show up…I’ll have some market things to share soon! Have a wonderful day!

I was wondering how you decided to share just one quilt when you have so many lovely ones. Thank you for sharing this beauty.

Love it, Sherri.
Churn Dash is one of my favorite traditional blocks and I just love the 1930's repro fabrics.

I love reading all the stories behind the Festival quilts too, including yours. This quilt is so pretty. Love the soft colors and the white sashing and the striped border. The churn dash block is fun to make, isn't it? My current favorite blocks are the wonky star and string-piece. Thanks for sharing!

Great quilt!~Could be an antique, by looking at it in the photos! I prefer quilts that aren't perfect. Even though I don't see any lack of perfection in your piecing, I prefer things to be REAL.. Thanks for sharing! XO

I think the Churn Dash is a favorite for many (including myself) so his one is even more wonderful because it speaks to all of us that still have that block in the Must Make pile.

Love this cheerful quilt. The churn dash block was one of the first blocks I really loved. I made my first big quit as an internet block swap in 1998- churn dashes in purple! Thanks for sharing this early quilt.

Churn Dash is one of my all time favorites, along with Log Cabin and Double Irish Chain. So far I have made a mini Irish Chain and a twin size Log Cabin, but no Churn Dash! Yours looks happy, scrappy, and charming. Thank you for sharing your quilt's story 🙂

Last winter I received churn dash blocks for my birthday from my small quilt group. It's to be a "charity" quilt so I will be sashing the blocks more simply than what you did with yours. However, I love the way you sashed your blocks. Hmmm, another churn dash quilt may in the works!
Thanks for sharing this beautiful quilt.

Such a happy quilt. Just wondering, how bit is it? Somehow I see it on a guest bed. Who wouldn't know they were welcomed if that was there for them? I like how each block is bordered.

Sherry, it's gorgeous, and the perfect entry for the quilt festival! With all the new, fancy quilt patterns available, being a traditional quilter, I appreciate the churn dash and your choice of using reproduction fabrics was an A+ decision. I like how you framed each individual block, and how it came together as a whole. Beautiful! ~karen
