Solids Along Post Three

Hello! Welcome to the third post in the Solids Along (a series of quilt block posts using the Moda Friendship Block patterns)! I hope you're planning to make some or all of these blocks with your favorite solids--it will be so much fun to see the finished projects in the parade. This weeks blocks are some of my favorites...

Really, I love all three! But I must admit I have a favorite...

Bonnie's Moda Friendship block just might be my absolute favorite so far. Well it is at least for now. Download the pdf directions here. I used Bella Gray (9900 83) and Bella Mango (9900 222). Did I mention I really, really love this block?!

Next up is another favorite, the Moda Friendship Block by Blackbird Designs...pdf directions found here. I used Bella Cobalt (9900 227) and Bella Summer House Lime (9900 173).

And finally, Camille's Moda Friendship block (I had to do Bonnie and Camille's on the same day)! Camille uses an easy method to create her friendship stars. I used Bella Gray (9900 83) and Bella Bright Turquoise (9900-226). Block pdf found here.

And here are the first 9 blocks! (Remember you can find links to the other six blocks on this post).

I have my next three patterns picked out, I just need to decide on fabrics. It helps to take the photos for my blog since I can better see which colors I might need more of through the "eyes" of a photo.

The next "Solids Along" block post will be on May 15th.

I'm also over at the Cutting Table blog today talking about Bella solids that coordinate with Lario, Happy Go Lucky, and Summer House--all recently released (or soon to be released) Moda collections...see you there!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I like how this solid quilt is evolving. Good call on balancing the bright color with the neutral grays. Love that!

Wow, I am with you: I love your Bonnie's Friendship block! This wold make a perfect signature block - just wondering how it would look like in a quilt made only with this block. I am challenged at visualizing if any secondary designs would show up.

I just saw another wonderful quilt by Alex Anderson at a show last weekend using white background and solids. I'd never thought of using solids for some reason... I love your blocks! So bright and happy!
