Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 413: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post with a roundup of fun things I’ve found from around the internet this week. This week finally felt a little normal after all of the craziness with preparation for International Quilt Market at the beginning of the month. I was even able to do some fun sewing and start prepping for some teaching I’m doing in early November. I’m hoping to do even more fun sewing later this week. Keep reading for all of the inspiration in today’s post.

Saturday Seven 413: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
Here are some ways to get better sleep: more sleep = better quilting! And I loved this piece on being careful what we let go of–things are busy, and we are all trying to simplify–so here are some great ideas as you evaluate your time.
2. Recipes to Try
These Pumpkin Cardamom Crumb Muffins look amazing (and come highly recommended). And these Peanut Butter Scotchies also look amazing! Because it’s soup season, here are 20+ Soup Recipes! Finally, here are 24 Ways to Use Those Leftover Bits of Canned Pumpkin!

3. Quilt + Sew
I finally made a Patchwork Duffle! I’ve had this pattern for quite a while and dug into my scraps last week to get the panels made (I used mostly Delightfully Yours, Raspberry Summer, Strawberry Lemonade, and Laguna Sunrise fabrics). I had my friend Gail do an all-over swirly pattern with my quilt sandwich: patchwork on top, Soft & Stable for stabilizer in the middle, and our Dresden cheater fabric from Raspberry Summer on the bottom. It turned out so lovely! Below find links to the pattern and the contrast fabrics I used for straps and the interior binding:
- Patchwork Duffle Pattern by Knot & Thread
- Soft & Stable (for stabilizer)
- Grey floral from Delightfully Yours (straps and exterior trims)
- Red floral from Delightfully Yours (interior binding)
- Dresden Cheater Fabric from Raspberry Summer
- Double-Slide 30″ Zipper (this teal color ended up being the perfect contrast)!

4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
Find fun ideas for fall in this episode of Best of Both Worlds. I also enjoyed Sarah’s ideas for getting your dreams and reflections flowing.
5. Holiday Prep
Yes, it’s almost November, and then we will be fully into holiday season preparation. So I thought I’d start sharing some fun ideas I find for the upcoming seasons. First, here is a beautiful fall home tour with decorating ideas galore. And here is a darling tree garland you can make with fabric scraps.

6. Favorites
I just ordered this Flip-Straw Stanley–can’t wait to not have to worry about the straw 🙂 And I also just restocked my favorite skin-care cloths–they are the best!
