Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 410: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post with a roundup of things I’ve found from around the internet this week. Keep reading for all of the details.
This weekend I’m attending International Quilt Market in Houston, Texas. We are sharing our Poinsettia & Pear fabric collection there–our 22nd collection to date. We are also excited to be there to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of Moda Fabrics. I’ll have all of the details from the event next week when I’m home. For now, keep reading for this week’s lifestyle + inspiration ideas!

Saturday Seven 410: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
This “A Different Kind of Life” post is one with ideas that we can use even before we have a life-changing event in our life or that of a family member’s. My self-care goal for this week is to plan out the fourth quarter of the year so I can move forward without stress once I return home from Quilt Market!
2. Recipes to Try
This Whipped Ricotta Pasta is number one on my list when I get home–the recipe had me at “creamy dreamy!” I’m definitely going to try these Ground Beef Enchiladas–mostly because it has a made -from-scratch red sauce recipe included! And finally…Easy Sheet Pan Chocolate Chip Cookies for the win!
3. Quilt + Sew + September Sew Sampler Box
First, here is a darling Tissue Box Cover Tutorial from our friends at Fat Quarter Shop. Finally, the September Sew Sampler Box arrived with the following fun fabrics and notions:
- Sun-Drenched Junior Jelly Roll by Sweetfire Road
- Quilt Project Book–love this!
- Clover Pink Seam Ripper–my favorite seam ripper in petal pink only at FQS!
- Table Runner Pattern (FQS Sew Sampler Box Exclusive)
- 5″ Jelly Braid Paper (I can’t wait to try this)
- Flowering Quilt Along Block 6
- A La Carte September Box
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
I’m definitely going to have a book review to share next week–my Kindle is ready to go! And I loved Sarah’s ideas this week on Building in Fun to our Schedules. And on the Best of Both Worlds podcast, Laura and Sarah share lots about time tracking!
5. Harbor Sew Along Finishing Video
We just shared the final video for the Harbor Sew Along! You can watch it above or watch on our YouTube channel. It’s been so exciting to see how many of you were sewing along! As I mentioned in the video, I’d love to hear if there are any other of my quilt patterns you’d like to follow along with for a sew along! Leave a comment here if you have a pattern choice!
6.Electric Quilt 8
Today I just had to share a little bit about my love for designing quilts with EQ8. I’ve been using the EQ programs for over 13 years and design all of my quilts with them. Recently I’ve been able to take an on-line course from EQ (gifted to me in exchange for a review) and I’m really loving the course and seeing additional features I can use. I’ll be providing my full review of the course soon. If you are thinking of trying to design your own quilts, I highly recommend EQ8!
