Hello, friends! I returned home on Sunday from an incredible week at a Kaua’i, Hawaii Quilt Retreat. This event featured 51 students, 4 staff, 2 teachers (me and Camille Roskelley of Thimbleblossoms), quilt classes, excursions, cultural classes, lovely meals, incredible accommodations and more. It was definitely hard to head home after a week in a true paradise.

Kaua’i, Hawaii Quilt Retreat
The quilt retreat was hosted by Eternity Quilt Events (who also hosted our May retreats in St. George, Utah). Diane and her incredible team once again outdid themselves as they catered to everything a quilter could think of.

Mahalo
Above is my class with their Mahalo quilt blocks outside in one of the courtyard areas of the resort. I was so happy that most of the quilters were able to finish a block. Many also worked on chain-piecing the different units and will definitely be able to put their quilts together soon. Quilters were also able to take a class from Camille Roskelley with 8 hours of class-time with Camille and 8 hours with me over the course of four of the days.

Activities
Quilting was just a part of this incredible event. We had daily events and excursions ranging from an opening social and pizza party, river tours, tubing, picnics at the beach, short hikes, lei-making and more. Plus, I wasn’t sad that the beach was just steps away from our resort. And the hotel pool wasn’t too shabby, either!
