(The instructions for some patterns have cutting instructions that will yield enough print pieces for 36 blocks. Since you only need 18 blocks, please follow the revised cutting instructions for your jelly roll strips or layer cake squares).
Divide 36 jelly roll strips into 18 piles of 2 strips each. Choose one fabric of the pair for the blossom center and the other strip to be the accent fabric.
From the strip you will use for the blossom block center cut (3) 2 1/2” x 2 1/2” squares and (1) 2 1/2” x 4 1/2” rectangle. From the other strip cut (4) rectangles 2 1/2” x 4 1/2”.
You can use the additional pieces from the jelly roll strips to make a scrappy binding! I like to cut strips into pieces 2 1/2" x 11" to use for scrappy bindings.
The cutting directions for the star block prints are for quilts using 20 fat quarters. If you are using just 10 fat quarters, cut (2) star center squares, (8) star corner squares, and (4) star point squares. These pieces can still be cut from one fat quarter.
