Flying Geese are one of my favorite block designs...and this month's block
features 12 flying geese units around a center square...one of my favorite ways to set them!
I'm continuing to use fabrics from the Nomad collection by Urban Chiks for Moda fabrics along with other fabrics in my stash. This month's block features the feather print on blue from that collection that I just love (I'll be introducing more blue fabrics into this quilt as the year goes along).
I will have the landing page and fabric requirements ready when I release the March block...for now...start with either a fat eighth bundle or some scraps--I'd love to have you join in! If you are just starting now...you can find the download for the January block here.
And for this month's block...find the free PDF download here. And...see my post with ideas on making perfect flying geese blocks here!
I hope you'll join in...last year's quilt was a lot of fun, and this one is going to be one you won't want to miss out on!
Happy quilting, and thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank you Sherri for the pattern. I love the colors that you choose.
Beautiful block! I was thinking yesterday that your BOM is this year on my list and I have a plan which I think you'll like:-)
Thanks, Sherri, for the new block. I participated in your BOM last year and I'm quilting it now. It was so much fun, and I really like the blocks this year, too. Thank you for your interesting, informative blog and all the patterns you share with us.
This is a great block! I'm not much good at BOM projects, but I could see me making a few of these to use in some way. Thanks doing the math.
Love the colors you've chosen - bright and warm!
I now have January and February printed and am still trying to decide on participating.....grrrr I know it will be fun and ONE BLOCK of month I think is doable-but then i look at my list of things to do and i'm GRRRR. I have a fat quarter bundle i bought around the holidays just for a purpose like this.....still thinking..thanksf or sharing-early, too! :)
Another great block; thanks!
This looks like a great block of the month. I just finished putting my 2017 quilt top together and can't wait to have it quilted. I am going to try to join in again this year.
Thank you for these lovely blocks. I’m brand new to quilting and think this is a lovely way to learn

What should the finished size of the flying geese be? Was there plenty of allowance made to trim down using my Fit to be Geese ruler?
