The Saturday Seven | 4

Happy Saturday! It's time to get organized for a wonderful new year just around the corner, so today's post has all of my favorites for getting and staying on track! (I know this is one of the busiest weekends of the year, so you might want to save this post to read next week)!

After all the guests have gone, (or when you are home if you've traveled), sit

down, put your feet up, and enjoy these ideas for starting out 2018! Or, if you have everything all ready now and have a bit of time on your hands...enjoy! Most of today's links deal with organizing...but number four is specifically for quilters!

1.  If you are still in need of a planner for 2018...I'm loving my brand new Emily Ley Simplified Planner (and I've tried a lot of planners over the years).  You can see all of the available options (daily or weekly version with several cover styles) here. And I also picked up a couple of these magnetic page markers which will work with any calendar!

2.  And because organization is on everyone's mind right favorite organizing book, The Complete Book of Home Organization can be found here.

3.  I also love the idea of a home organization challenge at the beginning of the year.  This is the one I'm going to be following along with

4.  This is the perfect time to take note of the projects you have and to start planning for 2018 projects.  Read this post to get started with some helpful hints on choosing a new quilting project (or projects)!

5.  My best ideas on time management for quilters...perfect for starting off the new year!  Read them here!

6. I'm in the midst of a big reorganizing project in my sewing room closet right now, and these storage bins are working out wonderfully!  Plus, you can use these labels so you know what is inside! I can't wait to start sharing pictures of my space after I finish up the organizing!

7. I really feel like menu planning is one of the best ways to stay organized and get more done (not to mention the added bonus of saving money).  I've been following the Our Best Bites gals for years and have all of their cookbooks.  I recently started using their menu plan and have found it to be super helpful.  You can find out more about it here...and you'll get a discount if you subscribe to their newsletter as well.
Don't forget the Fat Quarter Shop bonus sale today...$10 off a 50$ + email gift certificate!  Shop here!

Hi Sherri! I can't believe how timely your post is for me! I've been trying to bring some organization into my quilting room this past week and I'm surprised to find that I have SEVEN UFOs and there are even a couple that I don't even really like anymore (what was I thinking?!?). So I was wondering, do you ever just walk away from a UFO and spend your valuable time working on something else? Also, what do you do with your quilts after they're finished and quilted? I've given so many of mine as gifts and stored those that I especially love, but at some point they start to take up so much space....sigh. I would really appreciate it if you could share any suggestions/comments on how you store your quilts. Thank you!
