The Saturday Seven | 2

Hello and happy Saturday! This month is sure flying by, isn't it?! I can't believe that there are just two weeks left before Christmas.  I'm not ready yet, but I have lists and plans!

I don't have  photos to go along with the things on this week's Saturday Seven

post, so I thought it would be appropriate to share some close up photos of some of the quilts on my entryway quilt ladder.  Above is the Cameos quilt...and it's the oldest of the three quilts I'm sharing today.

Next up is my Scrappy Trip Around the World--Christmas version!  This really is such a great quilt for using scraps.  I should probably get a group of strips ready to make another one of these.  I've accumulated more Christmas fabrics since I made this a few years ago.

And Hometown Christmas quilt...this year's first Christmas finish.

And now...the second edition of the Saturday Seven...

1.  If you're looking for a new quilt book to give yourself or a friend for Christmas and you like the easy of sewing with strips...order this book: Start with Strips: 13 Colorful Quilts from 2-1/2" Strips. It releases on December 19th...just in time to arrive for Christmas.  I've seen images of the quilt projects and follow the author on Instagram...Susan has an amazing way with fabrics and design...mine has been on pre-order for a while now!

2.  If you enjoyed my Christmas Tree block post a couple of weeks ago...well...I found two more trees to share with you.  I haven't made these yet, but as soon as I do I'll be updating my earlier post.  Elizabeth has done it again with two new templates for Tiny Trees and Teeny Trees...get the downloads here

3.  If you're feeling a little overwhelmed right are 5 Lists for Christmas to help you get organized.

4.  The Moda Bakeshop is counting down to Christmas with a holiday-themed 6" block each day in December.  It's not too late to start quilting along...make your favorites for a wall hanging, or make them all!

5.  Another fun quilt along that just started is the Scrappy Snowball quilt along from Temecula Quilt Company.  Make 16 snowball blocks each week (8 light and 8 dark) and by the end of February you'll have enough blocks for a wonderfully scrappy quilt.

6.  This year I'm going to try a new Christmas breakfast recipe...Cheesy Salsa Verde Sausage Breakfast Enchiladas.  Yum!  (Although I also have to make the ham and egg casserole I've been making for years...because one of my kids calls every year to make sure I'm making it)!

7.  I loved this post on Avoiding the Holiday Hustle: Tips to Simplify the Season.  There is still enough time to check a lot of these things off of your list before things get really crazy!

Here's wishing you a wonderful weekend...thanks so much for stopping by!

Love your wonderful Christmas quilts and your new series 'Saturday Seven'. I'm making the Moda Christmas blocks with Fig Tree fabrics and already sew some blocks and the sashing togehter and hopefully finish it before the year is out.
