Christmas Log Cabin Quilt

Happy Monday! The king-size scrappy log cabin Christmas quilt is complete (wow...try to say that fast five times!). I had forgotten how long it takes to bind a king-size quilt.  Luckily I had a few episodes of  Fixer upper and some others to catch up on!

For some reason, though, I'm a little bit sad to be done with the making of it.

This project has literally been on my list of quilts to make for years, so now that it's finished it is a very strange feeling.  I loved working on it!

And I'm definitely going to start working more on my bright and scrappy version of this quilt.  I've got a good start already. And I won't be making the new quilt king-sized!

My friend Marion got it absolutely right with the quilting pattern.  I think it adds such a fun touch to an old-fashioned classic pattern and setting.

It's really hard to get a good photo in our room...the lighting is just not that great...but here's the quilt at home!  For next Christmas I'll make quilted pillow shams and pillow cases to match.  But for now I'm just happy to have a Christmas quilt that actually covers our bed!

Quilt Details:

PS I've updated my Favorite Products page  with the best basics in notions and products for quilters. I've also included some of my favorite organizational products for the sewing room...some are traditional products made for quilters with others a little outside of the box--but perfect for keeping things organized so you can spend more time quilting!

Don't forget that the Fat Quarter Shop Christmas flash sales are still going on.  There is a new Christmas sale every here!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I do very much like that quilt - shows it to perfection laid out on the bed (and for an idea of the size too). Awesome! :D

That sure does look nice!! Log cabin blocks seem to take forever to make when I'm sewing, so I'm quite amazed at a KING sized log cabin quilt!!! Have a wonderful Christmas!! Hugs, H
