Quilt Market Houston 2017

Hello  and happy Thursday!  International Quilt Market in Houston, Texas was absolutely wonderful.  I always do a lot of work prior to leaving (and also work hard while I'm there), but the inspiration gained always seems to make it so very worthwhile.

Although we saw some remnants of the awful devastation of the Hurricane that

was such a terrible event for the community of Houston and surrounding areas, the Houston Strong sentiment was awe-inspiring.  I loved this display outside near the Convention Center!

Color, print, and pattern were found everywhere inside the event center; of course,  I especially loved Moda's booth theme which was "I Dream of Moda." The Dream Catchers found throughout the area were a lot of fun...and there was also a dream catcher for each designer to hang in their booth!

Our booth for The Front Porch was so much fun.  It went up quickly thanks to the help of my husband who did all of the ladder work! You can see my row from the All in A Row Again book down at the bottom.  We had a fun Schoolhouse session for that book where the row designers got to had to walk a mini runway with their rows!

It's always fun to display the pre-cut bundles and jelly rolls in our booth.

While I had five large quilts to display this time, I think the smaller projects I'd sewn really added that special touch to our booth.

There were quite a few Moda designers at market this fall, so I have a lot of booth photos.  (I won't get to them all in this post but will post the rest and my other market favorites in additional posts).

Minick & Simpson displayed their upcoming red and cream collection, Farmhouse Reds.  You might recognize her "On the Plus Side" quilt pattern that I am currently working on in blues and creams.

Deb Strain displayed her Homegrown collection which is a fun farmhouse style group with a lot of fun panel designs.

The ever-lovely Mom and Daughter duo of Bonnie and Camille were right across the aisle from us (I was also lucky enough to get to visit with Camille on both of my flights)!  Their Vintage Holiday collection is absolutely beautiful (I might be hoarding the mini charm pack of this I was able to get)!

Jen Kingwell always has a lovely booth, and her upcoming Beach Road collection is stunning.  There are many different prints and colors...which gives the collection the scrappy look so many of us are looking for!

Yes, Jen's booth needed two photos...it's just so lovely!

The Swell Christmas collection by the Urban Chiks is another one of my favorites (this group is a must have).  I loved the original Swell collection from several years ago, and this group  has everything I loved in that collection along with my favorite vintage Christmas prints and colors.

Another one of my favorite Moda booths was Linzee McCray's gorgeous booth displaying her "Feed Sacks: True Blue" group.  I'm very partial to blues...and these were absolutely beautiful!

Jo Morton displayed her upcoming New Hope group with the loveliest quilts.  She really is a lovely person as well, and I missed getting to visit with her as much as I did last market when we were booth neighbors.

Corey Yoder displayed her upcoming Pepper & Flax collection...a stunning grouping of greys, yellows, blacks, and greens.  This collection has a lot of lovely background fabrics as well.

I'll finish today's post with the beautiful Painted Garden collection by Crystal Manning.  This bright fusion of colors and prints was a delight!  I love seeing the beautiful dresses and garments Crystal sews with her collections.

Okay...well this was just the proverbial "tip of the iceberg" from market.  I know I'll have at least two more posts to share: another with more Moda booths and an additional post for the other things I loved around the showroom.

Happy quilting!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Just got back from the Festival. Two 6-hour days of walking! I was worn out, but very happy. Great time!
