Adding Patchwork into Sewing Projects

Hello! Today I'm happy to share some ideas on something that is dear to my heart...adapting some of my favorite patterns so I can use patchwork! I've always felt that with fabrics...the more the merrier!  Over the years, some of my favorite projects have been ones where I took patterns that called for single fabrics or yardages and substituted my own patchwork pieces.

One of my favorite projects where I used this technique is my scrappy

Scrappy Quilt Sew Along Part 2

Hello and happy Friday! Welcome to part two of the Scrappy Patchwork Quilt Sew Along!

As usual I had a hard time deciding on fabrics.  There are many possibilities for a scrappy quilt like this: holiday prints, completely scrappy, scrappy in a certain color way.  I even thought about using a fat eighth bundle I have on the shelf...all of these ideas would work perfectly!

But in the end I was cleaning up in the sewing room and happened upon a pile

House Quilt Blocks

Hello and happy Wednesday! Today is the day I get to share my project from the new book I Love House Blocks.  I had a lot of fun making this quilt a little over a year ago with our Desert Bloom fabric collection.

Now that I have Creekside fabric, I'm seriously considering making this again! My quilter Nathel did a beautiful job of customizing the quilting and added a lot of fun elements to the quilt!

And, there are 13 other fun projects included in the book which features 13 different designers. There are several projects I want to make (I really do love house blocks)!

My quilt is a great size for a wall hanging...and there are several other wall hanging sized projects along with lap-size and larger quilts.

One of my cute little houses made the back cover...so fun!  I highly recommend Block-Buster Quilts - I Love House Blocks: 14 Quilts from an All-Time Favorite Block! Happy house block sewing!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Along with placing beautiful quilts on our beds, quilts and quilted items can be used in many ways to make our houses our homes.  The very first quilted projects I sewed were home decor items--pillows, wall hangings, and table toppers.

While I do a lot of decorating with quilts in my sewing room today, there were a
