A New Mini Quilt...

Hello! The first project I worked on at my quilt retreat last week was this little mini quilt. I thought it would be fun to take a little quilt to work on that I might be able to finish while away!

I did get all of the blocks done on the retreat and just had to decide on an

outer border and binding when I got home.

The blocks were fast and fun, and I'm now determined to make the full-size version of this quilt. Making a mini version first is a great way to decide if you want to invest time in a project!

When I purchased the pattern I didn't realize there was a tiny bit of applique on each block: the center flower petal is a simple shape, so the stitching was easy! I used Joanna's freezer paper method which is explained in the pattern.

Back at home I decided on a simple cross-hatch quilting design on my home machine.

This was a fun little quilt...these little flowers definitely say "spring" to me! (The pattern is "Mini Daisies" and is available here).

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Until you mentioned it, I didn't realize the middle pedal was appliqued - ever cute. Love this!!

It's creepy how often we are working on the same projects at the same time. I made 3 mini daisy blocks the other night for this year's Figgy Mystery BOM. :-)

I've never seen a pattern that added that little bit of applique like that. The mini sure turned out pretty Sherri!
