Snapshots: Sail Boat Quilt Block

Hello and welcome to the Fat Quarter Shop Snapshots Quilt Along, Month Eleven. I can't believe it's been eleven months since we started this quilt along. This month's block, the sailboat, is definitely one you'll want to make. I think it might have been the easiest pattern in the quilt...it went together quickly. Wouldn't a whole sailboat quilt be fun to make?

After I made this block I just had to finish up my quilt so it will be ready for

the big reveal next month. I did something just a little different with my quilt that I'll share in December.

But this sailboat block...I just love it!

I've been adding sashing and setting the rows together as I went along since the second row, so my quilt finished up pretty quickly. The finishing instructions are terrific, and since I cut my borders back when my kit arrived my quilt top was finished in no time.

you might notice in the photo below that I put my camera block in the month 12 spot. I'll show you where the month 12 block ended up next month (that camera block was just to great to leave on the back of the quilt)!

My quilt is actually at the quilters right now, but it will be back in time to share the final block and my finishing change by December 15th.

Be sure to stop by the Fat Quarter Shop Jolly Jabber blog to download this months pattern! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Very pretty. I like that the sail boat is made out of sail boat fabric! I too think the camera is too pretty to hide away.

So glad to hear the camera block fits in the 12th month spot. I don't drink, so the wineglass didn't make much sense for me. I'm thinking of making the picnic basket the label on the back. Your quilt looks great!

I love your sail boat! I didn't make last month's pattern yet but this block looks so easy it'll be a lot of fun to make it!

Your quilt looks beautiful! Can't wait for the big reveal. I'm still slowly plugging away on mine. Some blocks I just had to make 'a lot' of, and so they were made into their own quilt already :)!

I am anxious to see your block placement on your finished quilt. I, too, want to use the camera block on the front. Please post your quilt when it is back from your quilter.

Wish I'd had time to do these blocks while you did them.
