Fabric Baskets

Over the weekend I had a chance to sew a couple of my favorite fabric baskets...the Noodlehead Divided Basket Pattern.  These two are number 5 and number 6 I've made from this pattern, and one is finally for me!

Yes, I've given 5 of these away and always wanted one for my sewing room--so when I started one for a gift this weekend I decided to make two and keep one. Three of these baskets have now been given as baby gifts...they are just the perfect size to store diapers and other baby things. The basket with the yellow floral print is actually for my older daughter's nursery (she is expecting a little girl to arrive sometime in October)!

The pattern is easy to follow and very well designed. The interior section has a divider which really makes it nice for organization purposes.  For my daughter's basket I used a mix of fabrics...the blue leaf by V & Co., the yellow floral, green floral, and aqua floral from Prairie by Corey Yoder, and the yellow polka dot from Bright Sun for the lining.

I used Shape Flex for the interfacing every place interfacing was called for, and I also used Fusible Fleece for the outer section.

My basket uses a mix of Nomad by Urban Chiks for Moda (outer floral, interior lining, and divider), Moda Dottie handles, and a bit of Cotton & Steel on the front.

I love the front divider pockets, too!

I really love this pattern...and is it okay to say I'm glad I finally have one for myself?!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

The baskets are beautiful. It's fantastic you made one for yourself. I don't have the courage to attempt makibg something like this. I wish I did. Can these be handwashed?

Isn't it always the case for us crafties? We make beautiful things for others and rarely for yourselfs. Glad you finally manage to make one just for you. I've used the one-hour-basket to make one as gift for my brother but need to make yet one for me ... perhaps I'll find this hour soon:-)

Your baskets are beautiful. I love that the pattern allows for a combination of several fabrics.

These are so cute! I have the pattern in my long list but I am going to move it up the line after seeing again how cute these are made in sunny fabrics.
