Happy Wednesday!  I'm stopping in to share something I've been working on...and something I've just found out is coming soon!

The quilts that inspired my red and white quilt have been preserved in a book which will release on September 22nd! Red and White Quilts: Infinite Variety: Presented by The American Folk Art Museum The book features a detailed look at the quilts in the Infinite Variety exhibit. It's an exhibit I would truly have loved to have seen in person, but at least there will now be a way to really study all of the amazing quilts in that exhibit. The book is a little pricey, but I know it will provide me hours and hours of enjoyment and inspiration!

Now that summer is past the half-way point, I'm trying to get serious about catching up on projects and works in progress. I've had two baby quilts on my to-do list for a little while, and since they are for twin boys, and since the Mom is past 31 weeks...I figured I'd better get these finished up!

I'm kind of making things up as I go, but I will share all of the details about these quilts when they are back from the quilter. I've used all of the blue prints from our Bright Sun collection along with a couple of Moda Bella Solids (Nautical Blue 9900 236 and Breeze 9900 132).

It's been really fun to play with just the blues from Bright Sun.  And...I'll be back on Friday with my turn for the Farm Girl Vintage quilt along--I had a lot of fun making my block!

PS The Craftsy Supplies Closeout sale is now live through Monday evening. Fabric, thread, and lots of quilting notions are on sale at great discounts!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Love the blues of Bright Sun with the darker solids it let's the lighter prints really pop.
Just put the book on my amazon wishlist but would love to know if it's just the photos or patterns as well (now that would be truely amazong).

I was fortunate to see the original display of the Red and White collection in NYC as I live here in New York. I can tell you that it was breath taking and jaw dropping at the same time. The pictures I have do not do it justice. I also attended the International Quilt Festival in Houston last year and again saw a smaller version of the original display. I only wish that the show could be brought from state to state and city to city so that all could enjoy the beauty and history of these awesome quilts.
