Her new collection, Farm House, is absolutely my favorite Fig Tree collection ever. It just has the best vintage/retro vibe of any collection I've worked with for quite some time. I finished up two quilts for her this week, and they have been shipped off.
I don't normally use a lot of black in my quilts, but the blacks in this collection have me ready to incorporate them into upcoming projects.
I made lots of Farm House half-square triangles this week, and those flying geese from the other day...if you look closely, you'll notice that many of them were sewn with Farm House prints as well.
It's always hard to send the quilts away after I finish piecing them...but, I'll be seeing them again next month at Quilt Market in Minneapolis! If you want to see some more previews of the new Fig Tree fabrics and patterns, Joanna has a blog post up with more information on her new fabric and quilt patterns with kit pre-orders available now as well. Here are just a couple more pictures--one of the quilts I pieced is the "Sunshine" quilt which also used some Fig Tree fabrics from Avalon and Aloha Girl. I absolutely love it!
And the other quilt I pieced is "County Fair." I fell in love with this one before I'd even finished the first block. It's funny, my daughters have very different tastes in fabric, but they were both here for Easter, saw this quilt, and both immediately fell in love with it. Maybe I'll have to make three more of these!
I have several new patterns of my own I'll be releasing before market... mid-size to large quilts, and one new mini that is my favorite mini I've designed. Guess things will stay busy around here for awhile!
Thanks so very much for stopping by!
