Quilt Market Part 2: Fig Tree and Kate Spain

Moda's theme this year was "there's no place like Moda;" this theme was aptly chosen as the Moda section was awe-inspiring and amazing as usual. I'll share a few photos of the Fig Tree and Kate Spain booth sections today, and I will share more Moda booth photos in my next post.

The reason I'm sharing just these two booths today is that three of my market sewing quilts were within close proximity of each other in these two booths! My plane didn't arrive in time for me to make it to the Moda Schoolhouse session, but "Get Comfy with Moda" (as shown on the t -shirt) was the theme for that event. I love how Joanna used the t-shirt as part of her booth decor.

Of course Joanna has new mini patterns including the Stems mini I've been not so patiently waiting to make and an adorable Dresden mini!

Have you seen the Jumping Jacks mini pattern? It was so fun to see the quilt in person!

Breadfruit, the center quilt on the ladder (pieced in blue, cream, and green) was one of the market quilts I pieced for Joanna. It went together quickly and is such a fun design. There are a lot of options for color variations for this quilt, too.

I also pieced Anemone using a variety of prints from Aloha Girl...another fun quilt. Actually, Joanna has another new pattern, Mahalo, which was one of my favorites. Somehow I didn't end up with a picture of that one!

Another one of my market sewing projects was the Trade Winds quilt I pieced for Kate Spain using her new Paradiso collection! I have been so excited to share this quilt...it was a king-sized quilt in two days! (I must admit I had it all cut out and ready to go before I started sewing).

I highly recommend this pattern if you need a king-sized quilt. It is great for scraps, too, and the quilt is pieced in sections which makes it easier to handle as you go along. I think this would make a marvelous Christmas quilt...with Kate Spain Christmas fabrics, of course!!!

It was really fun to get a picture of the quilt with Kate Spain and with my friend Val Krueger who did the incredible long-arm quilting along with several other market quilts she was doing!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back soon with more market booth photos!

Sherri,
Is the Breadfruit pattern one of Joanna's? If so, is it an available pattern yet?
Thanks! :)
