On Friday our family had the chance to head up to the mountains of central Utah and spend a few relaxing days at a cabin. It was the perfect weekend getaway. I spent a little time swinging on the porch.
And I spent a little time admiring the trees and enjoying the cooler temperatures. We even had a wonderful mountain rainstorm, complete with thunder, lightning, and hail! The temperatures were in the 70's during the day and the 50's at night--perfect weather for this desert girl who is tired of the one - hundred and teens!
Since there weren't the distractions of telephone and Wi-Fi, I just relaxed and worked on some hand-stitched projects.
I finished up 8 new hexagon flowers, one hex-den flower, and one six-pointed diamond star (my first time making the diamond star and hex-den flower blocks). Although I wasn't anxious to leave the scenery and the weather, it will feel great to be able to use my sewing machine this week. This is the last week of summer vacation for me, so I definitely need to get some sewing accomplished!
