Sew, Mama, Sew Giveaway Day


Welcome! Participating in the Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day during the holidays has become a fun tradition for me! If you're new to my blog, I hope you'll browse through my posts and visit again.  I post regularly about my adventures in quilting and about all things fabric and sewing!

I like to give red or green pepper jelly. So good with cream cheese on a cracker. And very handy to have around the holidays for a quick appetizer. Your little purse is so cute. Love the Ruby fabric.

I make homemade caramels every Christmas. That is the only time of year I make them and everyone looks forward to receiving them (at least that is what they tell me).

My favorite treat to receive is cookies, two specific cookies - spritz and Mexican wedding cookies (called pecan sandies in my cookbook). They just taste like Christmas to me! Lately, though, I'm the one who makes and gives them!!!

I have made a few mug rugs, a few small quilts for home and have made about 5 patient gowns for my patient. She loves them as she is on a.ventilator. I give a lot of my time watching my grandchildren and try to teach the girls to sew. I wish I had more time to quilt. Hopefully next year. Thank you for the giveaway. I make rum cakes during the holidays. One year I ran out of time to bake so I got lemon/chocolate cakes from Samms Club and put rum glaze on them. My family still talk about how good those cakes were.

I'm going to be a bit of a killjoy and mention that I believe that the fabric is from Bliss rather than Ruby BUT it doesn't matter because they are both equally gorgeous fabric lines! My favourite homemade gift has to be mulberry jam. I'm in Australis, so Christmas is mulberry season! Thanks for the chance at such a great giveaway :)

Favorite dessert -grown daughter and I get together and do a bake-a-thon a couple weeks before Christmas. Choosing several of our favorites, cookies, fudge, truffles, dessert bars and we make up individual plates to share with others. Great feeling of sharing.

My favourite treat to give is my homemade banana bread recipe. It's very moreish and although it freezes well, most people polish off a loaf in two days. I've even had people ask me outright for more - teehee.
