Lately Arrived from...France!

Last fall I showed a sneak peek of this quilt...

After Fall Quilt Market I was able to share a little more (see this post)...and today, "Carousel" arrived home all the way from France!  "Carousel" has actually been quite the traveling quilt--this quilt left home last October and was able to attend Fall Quilt Market in Houston before heading off to France!

My design for "Carousel" was recently published in the Quiltmania Special Children 2011 issue!

Carousel was made using Kate Spain's line, Central Park.  The quilt combines pinwheels and flying geese--two of my favorite blocks.  It also has a fun "peek" border which gives an added 3-dimensional aspect to the quilt.

Oh, here's the cover of the issue.  It has been published in English and should be arriving on newsstands soon!

This is the back cover--it shows "Carousel" and a few of the other fun projects included.

Quiltmania also recently published their Special Summer Issue 2011--and Kate Spain's "Great Lawn" quilt and fun "Bouquet Cushion" are the cover projects for this beautiful issue! You can read Kate's post about her projects here. It was a lot of fun working on this project, and I appreciate Kate for making it all possible!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Cute quilt, and I love the echo quilting on the animals in the borders, makes it look like they are walking on the quilt.

Well done for being published in possibly the best quilting magazine in the world!

What a cute quilt! It looks like fun to make, and the colors are so pleasant! I especially noticed the border print fabric with all the animals. I was just looking at that fabric on Etsy the other day & thinking I needed some of that!

Have a super day!
