While I am going to get as much done this week as I possibly can...I'm going to have fun while doing it...lots of organizing, painting...and definitely some sewing.
I'm hoping to work on getting the studio more organized...and ready to paint...
If I could just figure out a paint color...butter yellow, or a light cream...just can't make the decision!
I am going to keep working on my Vanilla & Blooms applique'...
It's always wonderful to have hand work to do in the evenings--since I'll finish this soon I'm going to have to decide on my next applique' project.
And I am going to spend some time deciding how to use these fabrics...I want them to be used in the perfect projects...thus, the indecision!
I'm going to read this book... The Farm Chicks Christmas: Merry Ideas for the Holidays (Country Living)
.
And keep reading this book...The Quilter's Album of Patchwork Patterns: 4050 Pieced Blocks for Quilters(I've been absolutely fascinated by the history of so many blocks--I have been reading this every day)! This is an absolute must-have for any quilter's library. And finally...I'm just going to enjoy this last week of summer...and think about the cooler temps coming soon...

I always put more on the list than reality allows! I'm glad I'm not the only one.
5am does not sound good?! Are you a teacher? I have to start going to bed earlier so I can get my kiddos to school...thankfully not THAT early tho! Have fun your last week!
Sounds like a plan! Enjoy your week!
is the Farm Chicks Xmas a good book.. would love to find one to peek inside!
oh.... my lists are ALWAYS longer than humanly possible!
I say GO for the yellow. My whole house is done in Restoration Hardware color Butter. You just can't be grumpy in a sunny yellow room (G)!!!!
Sounds like you have a fun week ahead of you -- have a great time. And I say go for the yellow too!
So you are back to ....? next week...I thought this was your passion, designing and quilting? You have time for something else? lol...I guess I missed that post...anyway, I have ordered the quilters album, I like the idea of knowing the history of the blocks...what is your fav?
blessings to 5 am..that is my normal waking time with no alarm.

It is so nice to get organized and splash some fresh paint on our walls. I did just that earlier this year after my father passed away as it was kind of a therapy for me during some of the most difficult days of my life.
I love Jinny Beyer's book and have it as well and I agree that it should be in every quilter's stack of books!
Have fun with your week!
Sherri ~ My wish for you is to have a GOOD week no matter how you decide to spend it.
I did a couple of rooms in my house the butter yellow and I am LOVING it!
I am excited to see your Vanilla & Blooms finished and what it is that you are going to do with the Dream On charm pack.
Hugs~
Have a relaxing and enjoyable week Sherri!
Make it a good week without any pressure!
Enjoy your end to summer. Your projects sound like a lot of fun. Be sure to leave enough time to enjoy your new books. Patty
Sounds like my to-do list - which I also did not get finished!
enjoy the last of summer........spring is just around the corner for me........
I can't believe summer is almost over! My classes begin tomorrow and I'm not ready. I still have a list of things I wanted to get done this summer too. But you did get a lot of fabulous sewing done this summer. I'm loving your list for this last week - enjoy!
you are getting organized!
I've looked at that quilter's album before... I think I might need to get it. :)
I have a question for you too... what kind of walnut shells do you use in your pincushions? How fine is it/where do you get them? Will the kind for reptile cages work? Thank you! :)
When I see all the quilting you accomplish, I just don't believe you have "down time" How do you do it all? I'm looking forward to the temps cooling somewhat, aren't you?
Enjoy the last week of summer vacation! I am sure you'll get lots done :-)
Enjoy the week, whatever you decide to do have fun doing it! Can't wait to see what you do with those new fabrics...they're both so darn cute!
You always manage to accomplish so much and looks like you have lots of pretty things to keep you busy. Love Dream On!
With so many options, I'd have to make a list! Have a fun week! I keep a ready pile of handwork near my chair all the time. ~karen
Sherri, really, I know no one who could have accomplished what you did this summer, and have time to sleep and eat! I think you've had a wonderfully productive summer, enjoy your last week of vacation.
I pre-ordered that Jenny Beyer ages ago, and I just realized I never received it....I need to check on that, I agree, a must have book!
Here are some paint colors I like in the shades you're thinking of:
cream- gentle cream, muslin, navajo white, ballet white, creamy (Sherwin Williams, all the rest are Benjamin Moore)
yellow- banana cream, ambience (both Benjamin Moore)
I've spent the last 4 months trying to decide on paint colors. Good luck!
Well, your studio does look very pretty already, to me. Lovely items you have there!
Enjoy your last summer vacation week. Take one thing at a time.
Hi Sherri!
Thanks for the piccies of your studio...love looking at them ;o)
I hope you'll enjoy your last week ~ and don't stress too much on your plans...we all tend to put more on the list than we can possibly accomplish...and with all that you've done in the last weeks you can be proud of!
I would love to come over to help painting...I don't know whether I would be a great help with color decision...I'm not good at that...but the rest...;o).
I just got my hands on a jelly roll of 'dream on'...I'd rather buyed the charm pack but the bidding went ridiculously high so I have to come up with a good idea for that. Are you somewhere near a decision for your fabrics yet? I love the 'it's a hoot' fabric, too (can't wait for them to hit the stores...) & as always I am looking forward to the project you'll make!
Hugs, Julia
Your studio already looks so organized to me. Maybe you organized it before you posted those photos. Hmmm... I love your Vanilla & Blooms applique'. That Hoot MoMo fabric fabric looks interesting. Can't wait to see what you do with it. 4050 Pieced Blocks by Jinny Beyer might take a while to read! I'll try not to rub in being a retired teacher too much. It was nice to sleep until 8:30 this morning.
Go with the yellow! I painted one of my bathrooms a soft, soft yellow and I just love it. My den/living room is a darker shade of yellow. It just makes me feel good. I vote for yellow!
Lots planned...hope you have fun!
To bad your sewing room is not as clean as mine. Sorry I made you look so unorganized. I will try and do better!!!
Hi, just discovered your blog. I love it - you achieve so much, I'm very jealous!
Laura - Dublin, Ireland
have a great week. You have been doing so much sewing so many beautiful things this summer, no time for other stuff:D
You look pretty organized to me. My lists are always longer than I can manage, what gets done gets done.
Love your applique blocks and Christmas blocks.
Your studio is lovely! Enjoy organizing it!
Micki
I'm getting that farm chicks for my friend for her birthday. You should check out "brown bread" by behr paint. I know it sounds horrible. It isn't brown at all. It is a cream. But in the morning it is yellow and at night it is green. I really love it. Just a thought. It goes with everything. You need to come to my house next time you're up in this area. I keep forgetting to ask you to come see me. You got so so so much done this year. And this summer. I can't think of anyone that gets more done than you.
I like the sounds of butter yellow and is that hexagon flowers I see on the wall?
I always have more on my list than I can actually finish! I can't wait for those 48 hour days, I am sure I will get it done then! Your studio looked organized to me, wished mine looked that good.
5 am? oh thats early!
Nadine
Sherri,
